Heineken profit hits €3.4 billion in 2022

Heineken Holding NV (HEINEKEN) today announced strong financial results for the full year 2022, driven by growth in all regions and continued momentum behind its premium portfolio.

Net profit for the year reached €3.4 billion, a significant increase from €2.5 billion in 2021. Revenue also rose sharply, with total organic revenue growth of 10.9%, reflecting higher prices and strong volume performance.

Key highlights of Heineken's financial performance in 2022 include:

  • Net profit: €3.4 billion, an increase of 36.0% compared to 2021
  • Revenue: €34.6 billion, an increase of 11.1% compared to 2021
  • Organic revenue growth: 10.9%, driven by price increases and volume growth
  • Operating profit: €5.2 billion, an increase of 23.8% compared to 2021
  • Net debt: €12.6 billion, a reduction of €1.3 billion compared to 2021

Dolf van den Brink, Chairman of the Executive Board of HEINEKEN, said: "We are pleased with our strong performance in 2022, which was driven by the execution of our EverGreen strategy and the resilience of our business model. Our premium portfolio continues to perform well, and we are seeing growth across all regions. We remain committed to investing in our brands, our people, and our sustainability initiatives."

Looking ahead, HEINEKEN said it expects to continue to grow in 2023, despite the challenging macroeconomic environment. The company said it will focus on executing its EverGreen strategy, which is designed to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.

HEINEKEN is the world's second-largest brewer, with a portfolio of over 300 beer and cider brands. The company operates in over 70 countries and employs over 85,000 people.
