The Oakland Athletics came from behind to defeat the Chicago Cubs 5-3 on Sunday afternoon at Wrigley Field, wrapping up their road trip with a win. The A's trailed 3-1 heading into the seventh inning but scored four runs off Cubs reliever Rowan Wick to take the lead.

Ramon Laureano led off the seventh with a single and stole second base. Elvis Andrus followed with an RBI single to cut the lead to 3-2. After a sacrifice bunt by Nick Allen moved Andrus to second, Tony Kemp tied the game with an RBI single.

Chad Pinder gave the A's the lead with a two-run homer off Wick, his 13th of the season. The A's bullpen held the Cubs scoreless over the final three innings to secure the win.

A's Improve to 35-36

With the win, the A's improved to 35-36 on the season and snapped a three-game losing streak. They are now 16-18 on the road this season.

Cubs Fall to 27-43

The Cubs fell to 27-43 with the loss and have lost six of their last seven games. They are now 13-21 at home this season.

Next Up

The A's will return home to face the Houston Astros on Monday night at the Oakland Coliseum. The Cubs will host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night at Wrigley Field.
